TI 2016

A few weeks ago we headed to Topsail Island for our annual beach trip! It was a bit of a smaller crowd because Auntie Michelle and Uncle Donovan couldn't make it :(. But we still had lots of fun!

Finley enjoyed jumping the waves with Grammie.

David and I enjoyed walks on the beach together.

We bought Finley his first boogie board.

And he loved riding the waves.

Of course it was hard to catch the waves by himself, so we would basically shove him in the right direction at the right time.

After this picture was taken he ran right into me!

Me and my mama enjoyed the refreshing ocean together!

This is a sand turtle Finley and Grammie made and then decorated with seashells.

And here is our fortress!

It ended up lasting almost all week long because we built it just out of reach of the high tide.

I am always so impressed with anyone that can find sharks teeth. I am so bad at finding them. Finley found several and on top of that he found a white one! Uh oh! Look out for sharks!

We think there was something wrong with this crab because he let us get so close!

And then he even let us pick him up!

Finley was a little nervous but eventually held the live crab!

The morning after we built our sand castle we found several crab holes in and around the castle. I guess they had taken up residence at our fort!

This year we stayed at a house that had lots of beach at low tide. Perfect for our bocce tournaments!

Finley was pretty spoiled all week being the only child and getting lots of attention from all the adults. Once we got back to the 'real world' it was a rude awakening for him.

We learned that playing the kid games were often just as hard as playing the adult games. And playing adult games with aging parents was hilarious and challenging!

Finley used his tennis skills to play a little smash ball. And he keeps lifting up the same foot that he does in tennis!!

My dad was in full training mode getting ready for his over 60 soccer tournament coming up. Finley was all too happy to help him train!

It turned out they were just at the right level for each other! Finley plays so much harder against his own family than against other kids. I don't know how to get him to play this hard in his own games!

We had wonderful weather while we were there!

While looking for fish in the tidal pools Finley found a soft shelled crab! How cool is that?

This lucky boy is spoiled rotten by all his grandparents!

He has those grandmas eating out of the palm of his hand! Uncle Michael was able to join us this year again too!

It was such a relaxing week! I had soccer camps on the horizon (starting the day after we got back) so I tried to enjoy our vacation as much as possible!

These two crack me up!

Pop Pop recorded some of Finley's training for the week.

And we spent time watching lots of soccer and tennis! Between the Copa America, Euro 2016, and Wimbledon we had lots to watch when we weren't on the beach.

Pops and I had our annual golf outing. Though it wasn't the same without Michelle and Donovan!

I was able to keep up with pops, but my short game is a disaster! I need to work on my putting.

We had such a nice and relaxing vacation! I just wish more family could have joined us. I hate that it is over already! Boo. Hopefully next go round we can have all the do do heads and poopies join us!
