I hope everyone had a fabulous Christmas!
We bounced around quite a lot but had so much fun seeing lots of family.
It was such a blessing to have everyone healthy, safe, and home!
Christmas Eve Eve:
After church on Sunday we headed over to CH for some quality time with my family.
Mimi and Pop Pop enjoyed reading some new church books to Finley.
My Uncle Pete catered in some delicious food from 411 so my mom wouldn't have to do too much!
He is the greatest! He really made Christmas so much easier on her and the whole family.
We might could get use to this :).
Grammie & Abuelo stopped off to join us for dinner on their way home from the beach.
Christmas Eve:
Christmas Eve was pretty low key for us. We hung around the house for most of the day and then headed over to Grammie & Abuelo's in K-Vegas for dinner.
They gave Finley these adorable Christmas jammies. Every Christmas eve they give us all new jammies to open and wear to bed. It is a fun tradition that we look forward to!
And of course we had to set out milk and cookies for Santa. And like last year I forgot to bake our own cookies so we used a few that some friends had made for us.
Christmas Morning:
Finley woke up at 6 am on Christmas morning, BUT he snuggled in bed with us for a half an hour because I don't think he remembered when he woke up that it was Christmas.
When we finally got out of bed we started things off by opening our stockings!
We let Finley choose the order in which he opened his presents this year.
He went straight for the big present first.
A bike from Santa!
He also got a fun stomp rocket that he decided he wanted only days before Christmas. Luckily Santa was able to find one quick! David and I both got each other almost identical strainers. They were even the same color. Hilarious!
After we opened our family presents, Grammie & Abuelo joined us for breakfast.
David made some delicious Christmas Crepes.
Then it was time for more presents!
Finley sure is one lucky boy.
His big present from Grammie & Abuelo was a mini trampoline.
He has already broken it in. And hopefully he won't be breaking any bones!
After we opened everything it was time to play some new games and try out some of the new toys.
Luckily the weather cleared so we could try out the stomp rocket outside.
Blast off! This was such a fun gift. I am glad Finley asked for it, even if it was last minute.
And of course we practiced riding bikes!
Christmas Afternoon:
We then headed back over to CH to do presents with my family.
We arrived just in time to open gifts with all those sleepy heads.
This picture cracks me up. Everyone else getting their phones out and ready to take pictures of Finley in his new pirate costume!
The theme this year from Mimi, Pop Pop, and Michelle was pirates! So Finley got an awesome costume, pirate gear, and even a pirate boat. Another fun gift he really liked was a kid friendly camera from Uncle Michael.
We had so much fun especially since do do head could make it down from New York.
My Uncle Lew Jack, his wife Linda, and our step cousin Zach also made it up from Florida.
After a little assembly, the pirate ship was ready to set sail. ARGH Me Matey!
After our family gifts and brunch we played a fun gift exchange with everyone. Zach got a very funny fart bank, and Donovan got wolverine claws, I mean salad tongs.
We vegged out most of the afternoon and then had a delicious ham for dinner. Let the weight gaining begin my friends! I don't think I have felt hunger pangs in the past week. And to top off a nice dinner I had two helpings of my mom's delicious pavlova cake.
More Fun Photos:
Finley was so funny the day after Christmas. He did not want to change out of his pjs and then put his jingle bell shorts on over them. He looked just like a little elf! And my friend who works on parks and rec got me this awesome 'rent a swag' jacket!
It was a busy but fabulous Christmas! Luckily the fun doesn't end just yet as we have more of David's family coming into town to visit!
