Finley's 13th Birthday

We officially have a teenager in the house!

We started off celebrating Finley's 13th birthday with a big homemade breakfast of crepes and bacon!

This year Finley's birthday fell during spring break, so we had the whole day to enjoy with him! Mimi and Donovan came over for the day and after having lunch at Taco Bell we headed over to the Science Center.

The littles, Mimi, and I explored the Science Center while Finley and Donovan did the ropes course there called Sky Wild.

Finley had done this ropes course once before with his friends, but this was Donovan's first time here.

They have 11 different courses of varying levels.

Finley and Donovan completed all but 2 of the most difficult.

The neat part is that we can see them while exploring the outdoor area of the Science Center so were able to get a few good pictures and videos.

I love how close these two are and how much fun they have together.

A few weeks after his actual birthday we finally celebrated with friends and a birthday party at Paintball Central.

Finley did this for his birthday last year as well, but this time around we had much better weather!

The paintball crew!

The littles and I showed up towards the end with food and dessert!

Finley decided on Crumbl cookies instead of cake this year.

They even have mini cookies for catering purposes so we went that route so people could try a few different kinds! The flavors this week were passion fruit, brownie, oatmeal, funfetti, and peanut butter with m & m's.

We also lucked out that it wasn't very crowded that day too!

Some of the rounds they just got to play against each other the whole time.

Finley had a wonderful 13th birthday! We are so glad we could celebrate with friends and family and make him feel so special and loved. Even though he is starting to act a little snarky and teenagery lately, he is still a really great, smart, and sweet boy. He keeps us laughing and entertained as well as challenges me intellectually. So blessed and grateful for my first born!

Easter at Myrtle Beach

The start of Finley's spring break we headed down to Myrtle Beach for a long weekend and to celebrate Easter with Grammie & Abuelo.

We arrived late on Thursday night, so didn't venture out until Friday. We kicked things off with a trip to the beach and a treasure hunt!

Finley helped Grammie & Abuelo bury some treasure on the beach!

The boys then received a treasure map and Finley helped 'interpret' the map and lead them to the treasure.

X marks the spot!

Time to dig!

They found it!

They were so excited!

Check out all that booty!

Even though it was sunny, it was super windy and a little cold! And I forgot how easy it is to get all wet when you are a little toddler...so we stripped down when our clothes got wet!

Our treasure hunting crew!

Grammie had all kinds of fun Easter things planned for us including lots of sweets and treats.

Finley was most excited about being able to drive the golf cart around their neighborhood.

And Hunter and Jackson enjoyed pretending and going along for a ride.

Grammie & Abuelo live on a golf course so occasionally there are gators around!

We found this one but were sure not to get too close!

On Saturday we spent the day celebrating Finley's 13th birthday a little early.

We went to a restaurant of his choosing.

And played mini golf.

Finley even tied for first place!

And amazingly the twins both putted a hole in one on the same hole! If only we had caught it on camera.

Our putting crew!

Easter morning the boys woke up to some fun surprises!

Our little bunnies!

On to the egg hunt!

The boys had so much fun looking for eggs!

We found all but one!

After going through our spoils we headed over to an amazing playground.

There was an ice cream truck and the boys all got snow cones.

Later that night we had an fabulous Easter dinner with Grammie and Abuelo's neighbors.

We also sang happy birthday to Finley and let him choose his pie!

We had such a great time visiting Grammie and Abuelo!

This was our first big road trip since the twins had been potty trained. The car rides were long each way, and sometimes we had to make a pit stop on the side of the road. LOL! But we would do it all again! Happy Easter!
