Halloween is such a fun time of year! Especially because Finley enjoys it so much.
It seems like it snuck up on us this year so we were rushing around trying to do our 'fall' or 'Halloween' traditions last minute!
We went to our farmer's market the Saturday before Halloween to get our pumpkins.
Luckily waiting until the last minute does have it's advantages. The pumpkins were only $5 a piece for great big huge ones! I can't remember what we normally pay, but I think that's a good deal!
We had our annual trunk or treat and chili cook off at the church. Our friends the Nelson's had great family themed costumes.
Finley dressed up as a power ranger this year. I couldn't really think of anything to go along with his costume, so David and I were lame and didn't dress up :(.
After the cook off the children had a parade and then trunk or treated. Here is Finley's little friend Caroline. I just adore her and hope one day they get married. (even if she will be a couple of feet taller than him)
For Family Home Evening we carved our pumpkins.
I tried hard to find a power ranger pattern, but alas we had to settle on a scary face and Frankenstein.
David carved the scary face and I did Frankenstein. Who's do you like better? Come on, be honest now!
Finley also got to wear his costume to Ballet class this week.
And to his preschool. Another little girl in his class was the pink ranger. They were so cute together.
First they had a parade and then a Halloween Hoot. I got to stay and help with the Halloween Hoot. It is basically a room with a bunch of different Halloween themed games. It was a lot of fun and I am glad I got to see him with all his friends.
Finally the big night had arrived! We had dinner at the Nelson's and then did trick or treating in their neighborhood.
This kids had fun and luckily the weather was really nice and not to cold.
We hope you had a spooky and fun Halloween too!
