Gender Reveal

The latest trend in the world of babies is having a gender reveal party. These weren't a thing when Finley came along, but since it is now, we thought it would be a fun way to celebrate the upcoming arrival of the twins!

Neither David nor I knew the genders of the babies, but we had our suspicions!

We invited several of our friends to help us celebrate the occasion.

I was so excited all of my Swedish tennis friends could make it! Especially since we are losing 3 out of 4 of them this summer! It has been so fun to play with them and get to know them, but alas it is time for a lot of them to head back home to Sweden.

My amazing friend Sarah, who also has twins (girls), drove over from Chapel Hill. I have already started hitting her up for advice!

For the gender reveal we bought two big balloons filled with confetti.

The color of the confetti would tell us if we would be welcoming little boys or girls or one of each!

I guess it's a good thing we saved so much of Finley's clothes and toys because we are having two more boys!

While it would have been fun to have one of each, Finley is very excited about having two little brothers!

We were fortunately enough to have both sets of grandparents there to witness the event!

Now we need to come to some sort of agreement on names!
I guess I am meant be a mom to only boys!
Let the adventures begin!

Topsail Island 2018

Our most favorite week of the year has already come and gone!

Our annual beach week at Topsail Island is always such a relaxing week filled with food, family, and fun!

Here are some of the highlights of our week:

My sweet parents walking on the beach.

Without fail, Finley got up at the crack of dawn every morning, but had a reading nook to go to so he wouldn't wake anyone up.

Daily exercises with Pop Pop.

Working on puzzles is so addicting for some reason!

Ta dah!

We enjoyed the ocean front views and sounds.

Not far from our house the fishermen caught this bad boy. And then put him back in the ocean!?! What?!?

Silly faces with my siblings.

Showing off my beach belly!

We played soccer on the beach almost every day! Though this year I had to just watch and cheer from the sidelines. We always recruit neighbors to play with us so there were some really large games!

Home cooked meals every night! This one made by Carly and Donovan was healthy and delicious!

Games and movies after dinner. Well for those that can stay awake!

Finley decided he wanted to join us on our golf outing this year.

This was his first time ever playing. He did great and didn't get bored!

While we were golfing, the rest of the crew went to the pier.

Family pictures!

Ahh young love!

Twining with my mom.

Building an epic sand castle is hard work! It took many hands to get this completed.

We got a couple of storms, but luckily they were at the end of the day. It did make for some epic pictures though!

We usually tend to indulge a bit at the beach. This dessert, which my dad ate, included a peach turnover, Klondike bar, and was topped with two mint Oreos!

We played lots of bocce and smash ball as well. Two games which I was allowed to compete in!

My sweet boy.

Since the World Cup was going on while we were at the beach we got to watch some soccer games together as well. It is so fun hearing Finley talk to my dad about soccer. He actually knows what he is talking about and knows a lot of the players. It makes for some really cute conversations between him and Pop Pop.

We played some hilarious and fun board games at night. Any guesses as to what this picture is? It's a genie in a bottle! LOL!

We ended our beach week by stopping off at Bojangles on the way home.

Here's the whole gang! It was so nice to have the whole family together plus Uncle Michael and Carly. We had great weather and definitely weren't ready for the week to end. Maybe next year we will book two weeks at the beach!
