Cover Girl

YAY Michelle!

My sister is featured on the cover the May 2008 issue of Dance Magazine!

Congratulations big sista!

We are so proud of you!
The article details her amazing accomplishments in the tap world as well as her new role in the cast of STOMP. She is truly an amazing performer and she just joined the cast of the touring show, so if STOMP is touring in a city near you, you have to go see it! She is brilliant!

I love you masamo!

I can't find the article online for people to read yet***, but here is a glimpse of the spread they did on her. Or you could just head to the local book store to buy yourself a copy of the May issue of Dance Magazine next week!

***Oh I just figured out you can click on the picture and it enlarges the article so you can read it! YAY!

Knitting, Books, and Kickball

It is time to get out!

Learn something new!

And expand my horizons!

After realizing that as I get older I won't be able to play soccer and tap dance forever, I have taken up three new hobbies.

1. Knitting: A little over a year ago I joined a knitting group through relief society. I am not very good, but I am enjoying making progress on a new scarf. Below is a picture of a scarf I did last year for my Nani. And yes, it did take me all year to complete! My newest project is a Carolina blue scarf that I hope to have done by soccer season (fall). Yeah I know...it is slow going at times. But I think I am getting better...right Shelley?

2. Books: Some of my friends from church started a book club a couple of months ago. While I was in school I didn't seem to have much time to read for fun. And once I was no longer bogged down with text books, I realized that I wasn't reading very much period. I think I was just having trouble picking out my next book and didn't know what books I would enjoy. Participating in our new book club has been great motivation to get back into reading for fun and it also has me reading all kinds of different books! It is very rewarding and exciting!

Our book club just finished up Stiff: The Curious Lives of Human Cadavers and our next book is The Diving Bell and the Butterfly. Feel free to check out my book ratings on the side of my blog.

3. Kickball: A friend from work invited David and I to join his adult kickball team, Team Epic Battle. Our team pretty much sucks, and we have to wear pink T-shirts, but it is still pretty fun. We are meeting new people and learning strategies on how to keep the kickball down when batting/kicking and how to run in a strait line (for some reason I run in an arch to get from base to base...I don't know why).

No this guy isn't on our team, but the photo cracked me up and I had to throw it in. There are some pretty crazy folks on our team. I wouldn't be surprised if at our next game one of them showed up dressed up like this.

Anyways these are some new things that I have been up to!
We'll see how long I stick with them.

Blogiversary

Hello friends and fellow bloggers!
Today is our blogiversary!

One year ago today we started this here blog with the hopes of keeping an online scrapbook/diary of what's going on in our lives. I think we have been pretty successful so far, don't you? In the past year we have compiled 38 different posts ranging from trips, to projects, to rants, to family accomplishments. I have composed 33 entries and David 5.
