Back to School!

When did my Kinder become a 5th grader?

I seriously cannot believe how fast time has flown by! This is Finley's last year in Elementary School! I feel like after this year he won't be a little boy anymore and I can barely stand it!

So far he really like his teacher, Mrs. Saeger, who is new to our school.
One of his best friends Milo is also in his class so he is super excited!

My little boy is growing up!

I am so going to miss having him at home with me! He is such a great helper and wonderful big brother.

Here are a few things that Finley is looking forward to this year at school: seeing his friends, math and reading AG classes, battle of the books team, and meeting his new teachers.

It's gonna be a great year!

Summer Bucket List

Summer is my favorite time of year.
With the twins being so little, and it being so difficult to get out of the house with them, I was bound and determined to make sure that Finley and I still had a fun summer.
We created a summer bucket list of things we wanted to do. I am not sure where that list went (ha ha ha) but here are a few of the things we've been up to!

We made trips to the playground when it wasn't too hot to let the babies swing and play on the toddler play area.

We watched the Women's World Cup and cheered the US team onto victory! I was pleasantly surprised at how into the tournament Finley got! He loves soccer so much and really enjoyed getting to watch several games with Pop Pop and talk to the "GOAT" about everything that was going on.

Finley played a lot of tennis between open play days with Coach Kevin over at Ridgewood and Thursday matches with GRETA.

Not to feel left out, I was able to play some night matches with my neighborhood team. Sad to see my friend and partner Magda go back home to Sweden.

Another amazing and long time friend since we first moved to Greensboro ended up moving to Arkansas with her family. We are so going to miss Shelley and the Aagard family!

I am not able to go to the pool without another adult, but luckily between family visiting and friends we were able to go to the pool almost once a week!

The babies really love the water!

We celebrated Harry Potter's Birthday with cupcakes at Sweet Josephine's with the Hoffmans!

Finley's friend from school Sophia hosted an annual back to school party. I can't believe this group of kids is now going into 5th grade! Time really does go by fast!

We didn't go to as many library events as we are use to (maybe Finley is starting to grow out of them?). But we did go to the Harry Potter festival at the library!

David and I have been able to have a few date nights where we play tennis when Donovan or our parents are in town. It doesn't always end with smiles from me, but so far we are still talking to each other. LOL!

I've been working really hard to lose all the baby weight and tone my stomach as best as I can! I realize somethings may never be the same but for now I am trying to be happy with how far I've come!

David thought it would be really funny to grow a mustache. He was really disappointed that no one at church or at work said ANYTHING about it. He really wanted someone to give him a hard time. But maybe everyone thought he was serious and didn't want to say anything? LOLOL!

Finley played summer Hot Hoops at the Y again. His team was awful but he still had fun!

They finally won their first game during the tournament and came very close to wining in the semis (of the B bracket) to make it to the finals. So close!

For my birthday this year I had a morning out playing tennis with my friends.

When I was struggling to find a fourth for doubles Finley volunteered to be my partner. He did great and we won our set together 6 - 2!

Go team Harris!

We also made a trip to Chapel Hill that weekend to visit some of my high school friends and of course Mimi and Pop Pop.

It's been a busy summer and it has flown by waaaaaayyy too fast! I am so not ready for school and early mornings! Not to mention I am really going to miss my little mother's helper. Finley has been such a good older brother and a huge help to me, rarely complaining!

9 months old!

Look who are 9 months old now!

Jackson weighed in at 21 lbs 14.5 oz and is 28 inches long! What a chunk! He can crawl like a champ, climb the stairs, cruise around furniture, and stand unassisted for several seconds. He loves food, books, and playing at the pool or in his bathtub. He is quick with a smile and a good sleeper. Dislikes include having his diaper changed, when his brother bites him, and getting dressed. Nicknames: fatty, big boy, chunk, action Jackson, flirt, and buddy.

Hunter weighed in at 20 lbs 7 oz and is 28 inches long. But dont' let his smaller size fool you. He is definitely the alpha male and often bullies his little brother. He can crawl, cruise furniture, climb the stairs, and stand for several seconds. He loves playing in water, chewing on things, and music. Dislikes include having his diaper changed, eating solid foods, and taking long naps 🙄. Nicknames: bunter, sweet boy, cookie bear, and pooter.

Trying to feed two babies at once. This rarely happens anymore!

Going to the pool always requires another adult. Thanks Grammie!

Pulling up on things!

Uncle Donovan came to help and visit for 2 1/2 weeks!

It was so much fun and he was such a great help!

We miss you Uncle Donovan!

Stuck!

First time riders in the Costco cart!

I'm grateful for friends who always help with the babies and give me free hands to eat in peace!

ABT babies!

We made our first trip to the Children's Museum!

The babies loved it so much and squeaked and squealed the whole time!

They enjoyed crawling over, under, and through things!

Babies first ballet bar! LOL!

We love helping big brother play the piano!

Do I have something on my face?
