Summer is my favorite time of year.
With the twins being so little, and it being so difficult to get out of the house with them, I was bound and determined to make sure that Finley and I still had a fun summer.
We created a summer bucket list of things we wanted to do. I am not sure where that list went (ha ha ha) but here are a few of the things we've been up to!
We made trips to the playground when it wasn't too hot to let the babies swing and play on the toddler play area.
We watched the Women's World Cup and cheered the US team onto victory! I was pleasantly surprised at how into the tournament Finley got! He loves soccer so much and really enjoyed getting to watch several games with Pop Pop and talk to the "GOAT" about everything that was going on.
Finley played a lot of tennis between open play days with Coach Kevin over at Ridgewood and Thursday matches with GRETA.
Not to feel left out, I was able to play some night matches with my neighborhood team. Sad to see my friend and partner Magda go back home to Sweden.
Another amazing and long time friend since we first moved to Greensboro ended up moving to Arkansas with her family. We are so going to miss Shelley and the Aagard family!
I am not able to go to the pool without another adult, but luckily between family visiting and friends we were able to go to the pool almost once a week!
The babies really love the water!
We celebrated Harry Potter's Birthday with cupcakes at Sweet Josephine's with the Hoffmans!
Finley's friend from school Sophia hosted an annual back to school party. I can't believe this group of kids is now going into 5th grade! Time really does go by fast!
We didn't go to as many library events as we are use to (maybe Finley is starting to grow out of them?). But we did go to the Harry Potter festival at the library!
David and I have been able to have a few date nights where we play tennis when Donovan or our parents are in town. It doesn't always end with smiles from me, but so far we are still talking to each other. LOL!
I've been working really hard to lose all the baby weight and tone my stomach as best as I can! I realize somethings may never be the same but for now I am trying to be happy with how far I've come!
David thought it would be really funny to grow a mustache. He was really disappointed that no one at church or at work said ANYTHING about it. He really wanted someone to give him a hard time. But maybe everyone thought he was serious and didn't want to say anything? LOLOL!
Finley played summer Hot Hoops at the Y again. His team was awful but he still had fun!
They finally won their first game during the tournament and came very close to wining in the semis (of the B bracket) to make it to the finals. So close!
For my birthday this year I had a morning out playing tennis with my friends.
When I was struggling to find a fourth for doubles Finley volunteered to be my partner. He did great and we won our set together 6 - 2!
Go team Harris!
We also made a trip to Chapel Hill that weekend to visit some of my high school friends and of course Mimi and Pop Pop.
It's been a busy summer and it has flown by waaaaaayyy too fast! I am so not ready for school and early mornings! Not to mention I am really going to miss my little mother's helper. Finley has been such a good older brother and a huge help to me, rarely complaining!
