Day two in the parks started over in Island's of Adventure. Because we were staying in one of the hotels on site we were able to get in an hour early to Harry Potter World.
We started our morning in Hogsmeade and immediately went around finding more interactive wand locations!
Here is the Hogwarts Castle in the day time.
It was nice to not have too many people around this early in the morning.
Finley enjoyed getting to wear his own Harry Potter costume for the day.
And here are a few of the spells that Finley was able to cast!
After finding and completing all of the wand activities, we headed over to do some of the Harry Potter rides.
The Flight of the Hippogriff is a fun roller coaster that goes really fast! The ride itself lasts less than 1 minute and as you are waiting in line you get to see Hagrid's hut!
After the Flight of the Hippogriff, we headed over to the castle to ride Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey. Finley wasn't quite tall enough to do this ride, so we walked through the line/castle to take the tour and then swapped off so that David and I could each take a turn on the ride.
We enjoyed seeing the moving pictures and Dumbledore's office.
We also got to 'walk' through the portrait hole of the Fat Lady and see the sorting hat. The ride itself wasn't too intense, but I think it probably would have been too scary for Finley. Maybe next time he will be tall enough to ride it.
We enjoyed walking through Hogsmeade, visiting Honeydukes sweet shop, and taking more pictures with the Hogwarts Express!
After wrapping up things in Harry Potter World we headed to check out the rest of the park.
They have a really cool interactive raptor experience. The raptor really moves! It was pretty creepy! It would get so close to you and breath on you!
I am sure they have someone controlling it, but I was a little afraid it was going to bash into us!
Finley and I rode on the Pteranodon flyers together. I loved this ride because it was like swinging the whole time, but apparently Finley did not. Maybe he is a little afraid of heights?
We got absolutely drenched on the Bilge Rat ride. I am glad we took our socks and shoes off before the ride. Because seriously everything was soaking wet! Good thing the sun was out!
We got to meet Pop Eye and Betty Boop!
And we even timed our lunch right to see some superheroes in a little parade while we ate.
After several 3-D rides and a few more water rides I was happy to visit the Dr. Seuss area where the rides weren't so wet or intense.
This was more my pace!
And we got to visit with some fun characters!
After exploring the rest of the park we made our way back to Hogsmeade for a few shows.
The first was the Hogwarts choir. It did not disappoint! Here is one of my favorite songs they did:
Then we waited around to see the Tri-Wizard tournament schools perform.
First up were the students from Durmstrang.
They were super intense! I also got a video of the Beauxbaton students dancing with their ribbons, but the file was too big to upload here.
Next we rode the train over to the Universal side of the parks for some more rides.
I recommend riding the train both ways as there are different things that happen on each trip.
Of course we had to ride the classic E.T. ride. Still one of my favorites!
We got to see the Delorean from Back to the Future. I am a little sad that they don't have the Back to the Future ride anymore.
And then it was back to Diagon Alley for another round of Escape from Gringotts!
We topped off the evening with a nice Butterbeer flavored ice cream! Our second day was jam packed and super fun! We ran ourselves ragged for sure.
