New Firepit and Patio

Ever since moving into this house David had some big ideas about putting in a patio and firepit.

Because of COVID, things were pretty backed up in terms of getting the project started, but we finally were able to get going in January. It took the company we hired a little over a week to put it in, but we are so pleased with the results!

David had thought about putting the patio in himself and I am so glad he didn't!

Seeing all the labor that went into the patio and how much work they did to make sure the area was level and even, there is no way it would have turned out as nice!

Of course, as soon as it was in, it was still a little too cold to use it!

But we finally broke it in a few months ago when we had our friends the Navarro's over for dinner and s'mores.

We snagged some great chairs at Costco and had firewood delivered just in time!

I still would like maybe two more chairs, but otherwise we were ready to host!

The littles sure did enjoy the s'mores!

Me and my girl Jess!

Here's what I've learned since we put in the fire pit. It's a lot more work than simply flipping the switch on our indoor gas fireplace. Also, I don't like the smell of smoke all over my clothes and hair. But I still think it's fun and we will definitely be hosting some nights around the campfire!
