Soccer Star

Spring is here and with the season change brings spring soccer!
This is Fin man's first time playing soccer and I can't tell you just how excited we are all for him.

Finley signed up to play with his buddy Brycen and he also has a friend from his preschool on his team named Owen. Owen's dad is also the coach for the Blue Hornets!

Check out that kick!

The first few practices were a little cold.

But running around sure got the kids going!

Of course some conditioning was required to get ready for the first game.

Finley was really good at listening to his coach about keeping the ball close when dribbling down the field.

Before too long it was game day!

Number 6 was ready to go.

Let the chaos begin! I can't tell you how funny and also frustrating it can be watching from the sidelines. Kids shooting on the wrong goal, not stopping when the ball went out of bounds, holding hands, hugging, watching butterflies, etc.

Finley was very easily distracted by his friends on the team and everyone cheering on the sidelines.

Brycen was a goal scoring machine in our first game. Here is his celebration and

victory hug for mom post goal!

Here is David giving Finley a little half time pep talk during his second game.

These boys are too cute!

Which goal are we shooting on? That one!

Finley got to kick off during the second half. That front line looks ready to pounce.

Finley was playing against a team that had three more of his preschool friends on it in his second game. Here is one of them. He was totally cracking me up.

The cutest part was definitely the hand shakes at the end of the game. Finley's season is just now gearing up and we are so excited for him. I am trying to keep my expectations of his soccer abilities in check, and just have fun watching them run around and play.
Go Blue Hornets!

First soccer team! How exciting. Once it warms up, we'll have to come to a game.

I love the pictures AND this post. I think when the time comes I'll be feeling the same as you. Go Finley, and Good luck Natalie and David.

Go Finley, Go Finley! The tiny soccer field is cute, too. Ü
