We had a pretty low key Christmas Eve. Well, if you don't count cooking a fancy dinner for 10 people. The day before I had thrown a baby shower for some friends in Chapel Hill at my parent's house and was pretty wiped out. So it was nice to stay home all day, not run any errands, and focus on cooking some delicious food!
Late afternoon our guests started to arrive! Finley and Pop Pop had lots of fun playing FIFA 16. So much fun, that Pop Pop is insisting that we bring it to the beach with us this summer! We will see about that!
Grammie & Abuelo were also able to drive up from Myrtle Beach to spend Christmas with us.
We love being able to cook for everyone and give my parents a break!
On the menu was beef tenderloin prepared two ways, because we can never agree on the rub! My half was a cumin and coriander rub with a basil curry mayonnaise on the side (recipe from Giada). And David's half was a butter, garlic, and rosemary mix.
We served the beef with pear salad, asparagus, roasted rosemary potatoes and rolls. Let the holiday feasting begin!
It was so nice to have my brother and sister in town!
Siblings! I sure have missed these two.
After dinner Finley preformed all the Christmas and Holiday songs he had been working on over the past month. Everyone enjoyed the concert!
Finley sure is spoiled by the grandparents!
He has them eating out of the palm of his hand!
Before diving into dessert we played a few rounds of charades! It is always entertaining and hilarious with this group! Finley even did a great job this year too!
My dad trying to get my mom to guess "Pride and Prejudice" (her favorite movie) and acting out "Where the Wild Things Are" were highlights of the game! (There's a video of the second one, put I am not allowed to show it to anyone until after my pops retires :))
Pretty soon it was time to call it a night! Luckily all the presents were wrapped and once we finally got Finley to fall asleep we didn't have to stay up late getting things ready.
The only thing we forgot to do was put out milk and cookies for Santa. Ooops!
