We had a pretty low key Easter this year. Our church held a fun breakfast and egg hunt the week before Easter that we attended. We also remembered to do our annual Easter Egg/Scripture count down. It always helps us to focus on Christ and all that He did for us. Finley was especially good at figuring out what all the symbols meant and represented.
Easter morning the Easter Bunny had left a fun tennis themed Easter basket for Finley. Finley was participating in a tennis tournament over Easter weekend and he had more matches on Sunday than we thought he would! We kind of assumed that the majority of the matches would be played on Saturday since Sunday was Easter, but he ended up having one match on Saturday and two on Sunday. Ooops!
Some of Finley's Easter goodies included some mining tools and kits. Finley is really obsessed with mining for rocks and gems and even asserts that he wants to be a miner when he grows up. I don't think he really understands what the job involves though!
Finley's tournament was over in Raleigh. It was a far drive, but Mimi and Pop Pop were able to come and watch Finley play in the finals and have lunch with us after his match.
He ended up earning second place in the tournament and by far the largest trophy he has ever received! He did a great job and we were proud of his determination and sportsmanship.
