One of our favorite fall traditions is going to the NC state fair. This year with Finley being so little we decided instead of driving all the way to Raleigh for the official state fair we would just hit up one of the county fairs a little closer to home.
Finley definitely enjoyed taking in all the sights and sounds at the fair!
The Dixie Classic fair was surprisingly not that different from the State fair. We still got to enjoy looking at award winning flowers...
ginormous plants...
and this amazing pumpkin! Finley started to feel a lot better about his size after seeing this new record setting pumpkin that weighed over 1200 lbs.
We made a stop at the petting zoo to make some animal sounds which we had been practicing at home. The only thing that we were unsure about was the sound that a goat makes...anyone?

Fried and on a stick.
Yup. That is how I like it.
Finley really wanted to try out some as well...maybe next year Grammie!
But the best part of the fair was taking Finley on his first fair ride - the Carousel!
Round and round we went! Finley seemed to enjoy himself even though mom and dad started to get a little queasy.

Finley's first trip to the fair was a success! And we may just stick with the Dixie Classic from now on...although that will mean giving up our traditional mullet game!

you guys must be doing something right, cause finley always looks like he is enjoying life in his pictures!
unlike the joy david seems to be expressing at the flowers.
Nat,
Goats bleat and baa like sheep. Something we found out after my parents' new neighbor turned her back yard into a goat farm. She's since added chickens and a horse - it drives the dogs nuts!
Anyway, I saw your Dad at Finley Fields yesterday after practice. I thought about saying hi and introducting myself but I didn't think he'd know who I was. It did make me think about you, so I wanted to say HI! Looks like all is well. Take care.
The fair looks like so much fun! Finley seems to be enjoying himself!
