Summer Fun!

I have not been doing a great job of keeping up with our summer activities on this blog. So this jam packed post is all about the fun we have been having this summer. Once soccer camps were over...it was time to let loose! First up...
Music Class:
All summer long my friend Nicolle has taught a weekly music class for the toddlers that were born the same year as Finley.

It took a while for Finley to warm up to the idea of a structured class, but now he is a pro. He claps, shakes, dances, drums, and of course has a great time.

This kid loves music!

And he loves hanging out with his friends too.

Thanks again to Miss Nicolle for such a great learning experience.

Bubbles:

I bought some bubbles on sale the other day and now every time we go outside Finley asks for buhbules!

He loves chasing them down and of course - stomping on them!
Children's Museum:
This was Finley's second attempt at the children's museum. It was so much more crowded than the last time we went, I am guessing because it is summer, but we were still able to have a good time.

He loves to pretend he is shopping at the grocery store.

And building with blocks!

He met this cute girl and took her on a plane ride. Doesn't she look impressed with his flying skills?

And then we found out that the new outdoors section had chickens!
It was so hot out there we couldn't stay for long, but Finley felt right at home with the animals.

Story Time:

This summer has found us inside a lot trying to stay out of the blazing sun.

On a weekly basis we try to hit up story time at one of the local libraries.

Once the stories are over the kids are free to play with the story boards and props.

And so Finley did.

Bur-Mil Park:

Another way we stayed cool this summer was by visiting the pool at Bur-Mil park.

This pool is perfect for little kids. It has a wade in beach area, little slides, fountains, and sprayers!

Finley really enjoyed wading through the water with his dad.

And playing in the fountains with his baba.

He even went down the water slide by himself. He did it a couple of times until David thought it would be a good idea for him to try it sitting up - not so much. As soon as David pushed him down the slide he flew back and hit his head. He wouldn't go near the slide again!

Luckily there were plenty of other things to keep him entertained.

City Lake Park:

Our adventures also found us taking advantage of a local park. This is no ordinary park though...in addition to playgrounds, picnic areas, and a lake...it also has rides!

This little merry-go-round is more dizzying than it looks. Because it is so small you go really fast! Finley seemed to get use to it over time. Especially when he learned he could wave at everyone 'passing by'. He is such a friendly kid these days. He wants to wave at everyone.

Say 'cheese' for the camera.

The best ride was the train!

CHOO CHOO!

Finley had so much fun riding around on a real train. The train took us on a scenic tour of the lake and playground area. We even went through a tunnel! Way cool and totally worth the buck twenty-five.

This summer has been so much fun especially since Finley has been more mobile.

It is so fun to see him get excited about things and having fun with his friends.

Nothing can put a price on these smiles.
