Fall Tennis

 

This past fall Finley was able to play on two tennis teams. He played in a kids Gate City Junior league on Friday nights and in a Junior Team Tennis league on Saturdays, both with friends from his Ridgewood tennis clinic.

We are so grateful that he is able to have an outlet to play sports during COVID. We opted out of soccer because of all the physical contact and Finley has been playing tennis 4 times a week when the weather is nice!

In each league Finley had the opportunity to play doubles or singles in a given match. 

Since moving into our new neighborhood he has made some really great friends through tennis.

We are so grateful for Ms. Dabney and all her help with the boys while we watched matches! Her twins are a year older than Finley and some of his best friends from tennis!

Finley's tennis teams did very well! His JTT team on Saturdays finished in 3rd place. Finley we 2-0 in singles matches and 6-3 in doubles. 

His Friday night Gate City Junior league team ended up winning his age division!

For this league Finley went 13-2! We are very proud of his hard work!

At the end of the Gate City Junior season, the league hosted a parent/child tennis tournament. David was away for a trial but I was able to play with Finley. We went 2-1 on the night and had a lot of fun playing together!

We are so grateful to have tennis as a fun outlet during these crazy COVID times! Finley has loved getting to be outside, get exercise, and socialize with friends. It has been our saving grace! We are so proud of Finley's dedication and how much he has improved these last few months!
