For Halloween this year Finley decided he wanted to be a Newsie. Since we already had the costume from his talent show number it made life easy on me! We all dressed up as news boys for our ward trunk or treat and chili cook off.
My favorite costume of the night was hands down Sister Mackey dressed as the Colonel Sanders! It was spot on!
After dinner the children had a little costume parade.
Finley was super excited for the trunk or treat. The kids got loads of candy and went around to the trunks at least 3 times!
On Halloween we finally got around to carving our pumpkins.
David decided he wanted to carve a simple creeper.
While Finley told me I had to carve a Pikachu! It was definitely challenging! David finished carving his pumpkin in about 20 minutes and mine took well over an hour!
After dinner we were ready to hit up the neighborhood.
Here are the pumpkins up close. Finley deemed my pumpkin the winner and then proceeded to tell David he owed me a back rub! Ha ha ha ha ha!
We decided to keep things a little low key this Halloween and just go out alone in our neighborhood. We did end up having one little boy from church join us though. We had a fun Halloween and were also glad that this year our pumpkins did not get stolen :).
