We were able to get our decorations up early this year! Early for us was the weekend after Thanksgiving. The weather was really mild so we took advantage and decorated the house!
The twins were very excited to decorate and Jackson kept asking "What time is Santa coming?" Sweet boy thought he was coming that very night!
David's creepy Christmas Elf made another appearance on our tree much to my dismay.
The boys also really enjoyed walking and driving around the neighborhood and seeing everyone else's decorations!
Every time we would leave or enter the neighborhood Jackson would request we drive by Ms. Dabney's house. I think he has a bit of a crush.
They have one Santa hanging from a window and when Jackson saw it he said "Oh no! Santa is falling! We have to help him! We have to help that decoration!"
We also started a hopefully new to our family tradition of S'mores with Santa at Summerfield farms!
Summerfield farms is really cute and picturesque and reminds me so much of where David and I got married, Fearrington Village.
It was definitely an exercise in patience waiting our turn to see the big guy...
But he did not disappoint! The boys did amazing!
And we got some fabulous pictures at a very reasonable price.
Not to mention s'mores outside!
Again we lucked out with really mild weather and could enjoy the evening!
Of course we had to get some hot chocolate too!
Our annual Running of the Balls race tradition got rained out unfortunately.
We decided to have Carrie over instead and have dinner and watch Christmas movies.
Then the next morning I made up for our missed run.
This is me and Jess one of my tennis buddies at a tennis Christmas party. It was a lot of fun and right before things started to get bad again.
I came home with this hilarious ornament in a dirty Santa ornament swap.
Finley got a huge kick out of it!
The boys also brought home some fun Christmas decorations they made at home. Usually some of that stuff is cute but not my favorite. These little Elves were a bit hit though!
I feel like there is so much to see and do around this time of year. It's hard finding a balance of not over doing it and doing just enough to make the season fun, special, and memorable. We are trying to find that balance while also keep both our almost teenager and toddlers entertained! It is a challenge to say the least, but I think we managed well this year.
