Thanksgiving

This year we spent Thanksgiving in Chapel Hill with my parents. It was an unusually small and intimate gathering as my brother went to spend Thanksgiving with his girlfriend in NY, my sister wasn't able to come down, and my dad's team lost early in the NCAA tournament so we didn't get together with the whole team.

We kicked off our visit with a date night out to watch a UNC men's basketball game.

It was the first time back in person since COVID hit and it felt so good to be back in the Dean Dome!

Hoping there will be more home games we can make it to in the future! Safely of course!

While in Chapel Hill, Finley enjoyed getting to shoot some BBs with Pop Pop off the deck.

They mostly shot at bottles and targets.

Though we did see some visitors in the yard! Check out this huge buck!

The boys enjoyed getting lots of attention from Mimi and spending the night at her house.

We were also able to visit with Sarah and baby Gillie for lunch one day!

On Thanksgiving we enjoyed cooking, setting the table, and watching the parade on TV.

The boys always find fun things to play with at Mimi and Pop Pop's house!

All dressed up!

Here's the spread! We had way more food than we could eat, but who doesn't love leftovers?!

Two of my dad's players who weren't able to make it home for the holiday joined us for dinner. They were so sweet with the boys and got a kick out of playing with them.

The day after Thanksgiving was our annual gingerbread house decorating with Mimi!

The boys ate about half of the candy I believe.

Even though we were sad that Pop Pop's team wasn't still playing in the tournament, we really enjoyed a low key Thanksgiving and getting to spend more time with him.

So grateful for getting to spend time with family after we had to stay home last Thanksgiving! Grateful for the vaccine and hoping and praying we can continue to visit my mom as safely as possible!

Looks like a great Thanksgiving! How fun that you two got to go to a basketball game. The food looked amazing. And the pic of Mimi reading to the boys is ADORABLE!
