Fall Soccer & Junior Team Tennis

This past Fall Finley played on a rec Fusion team. We were sad to leave the comfort of our JYL soccer league that Finley grew up playing in, but were excited to see what Fusion had to offer!

Several of his teammates were friends from past JYL soccer teams.

David decided not to coach/assistant coach which was a much needed change for our family. I was very glad to have his help on the sidelines wrangling two mobile and very busy toddlers!

Finley's team struggled to play together as a team and only ended up winning 1 game, tying two, and losing the rest.

We had some friends come out and watch some of his games!

And Hunter really took to one of Finley's teammates younger sister.

Even though it wasn't a winning season the boys still had fun and worked hard!

Finley's last game was against one of his best friends from school!

It was a close game and luckily they were still friends afterwards!

This fall Finley also participated in a junior team tennis league. Our neighborhood didn't have enough for their own team so Finley played on the Ridgewood team that his Coach also works at.

The team tennis allowed for Finley to have the chance to play both doubles and singles.

He did great especially considering he was playing on a U12 intermediate team.

He won 3 of his double matches and lost one (4-6), and won one singles match and lost one in a tiebreak.

His team did really well and ended up finishing first in their division! Way to go team Ridgewood! Finley was very proud of how well he did, especially being the youngest member on the team, and he looks forward to playing on the team again this spring!

12 months old!

These big boys are now 1!

I can't believe it has been a year already!

Hunter is 1 year old now! He weighs 21 1/4 lbs and 30 inches in length. He is very independent and our alpha male. He regularly bites his brother and is a daddy's boy. Likes: sitting in your lap, reading books, music, waving goodbye, clapping, stealing toys, and crawling through his tunnel. Dislikes: diaper changes, clothes, eating in his high chair, and being strapped down. Nicknames: bunter, bubby, little buddy, and peanut.

Jackson is 1 year old now! He weighs 23 1/4 lbs and is 29 inches long. Jackson is a mama's boy and gets jealous easily. He is also super sensitive and hates his brother messing with him. Likes: food, dancing, being held, going outside, eating food out of the trash can, and tickles. Dislikes: being bitten, when I hold Hunter, being left alone, and sleeping in the nursery. Nicknames: action, big boy, chunk, mamas boy, Bubba, and fatty.

Other highlights from this past month:

The boys love crawling into small spaces and getting stuck.

We enjoy the slide at the park now!

On a very rare occasion we are friends!

Jackson will fold his arms for the prayer.

I just love these curls!

Helping? Maybe!

We love our Mimi!

Again Hunter getting into things!

First Birthday Party!

Last weekend we had a fun baby shark themed birthday party for our big 1 year olds!

We were so glad to have Grammie & Abuelo visiting from Myrtle Beach.

And Mimi from Chapel Hill!

Unfortunately Pop Pop had practice with the soccer team. Boo!

Big brother Finley was a big help in decorating, planing, and executing the party activities!

For our baby shark themed party we had to decorate in style!

The little shark outfits we ordered online were so cute and a huge hit!

The birthday boys were a little overwhelmed with all their guests in attendance, but still had a good time!

Their friend from church Isaiah was there!

And their babysitter Miss Karen.

My high school friend from Chapel Hill Jamie came and of course their other favorite babysitter Miss Andrea!

The Barksdales also joined us! They are expecting a little boy in December. Hunter and Jackson are going to have lots of boys to play with!

Finley was glad Caroline, Ally, and Cora could join in the fun too.

After eating and visiting it was time for some games.

The most successful game was the shark bait toss. Jackson is good at throwing and Hunter would simply place the fish in the sharks mouth.

The pin the fin on the shark was a little harder to execute.

Next up was birthday cake!
We got these little smash cakes for free from Harris Teeter. They were adorable and the perfect size!

Jackson really got into smashing his cake. Hunter was more timid and even upset by everyone watching him!

By the end there was cake everywhere! We ended up giving the babies a bath mid party!

Sarah & Payton were also able to join in the fun from Chapel Hill.

After most of our friends left we opened up gifts!

These boys sure are spoiled!

Thank you so much to everyone who came and helped us celebrate Hunter and Jackson's first birthday! I cannot believe that a year has gone by already! It seems like only yesterday they were born! I am so glad we all survived the first year in one piece. We could not have done it without the help of Mimi, Grammie, Karen, and Andrea! It really does take a village!
