Mother's Day: Corona Style

Two days before Mother's Day our State entered into phase 1 of reopening. We were allowed to gather in small groups of 10 or less. Even though we want to be extra careful with our at risk population, our parents, and my mama in particular, we decided we could safely get together for a Mother's Day celebration.

We decided it was best to stay outside and stay 6 feet away from each other.

As you can see, some of us have trouble following the rules! Mimi!!!

My brother and sister have been in Chapel Hill for over a month and this was our first face to face interaction.

This was also the longest I have ever been without seeing my mama.

It was so nice to see everyone and visit!

The babies obviously would not adhere to the 6 feet rules...

So we just made sure no one picked them up, hugged, or kissed them. It was super hard on the grandparents, but better than nothing!

We were lucky to have the use of a neighbor's yard to play soccer in and my parents huge wrap around deck to picnic on. 

The weather cooperated and we enjoyed a wonderful afternoon outdoors!

Spring Pictures

Six months have gone by since our last family photo shoot. Finley is now 11 years old and the twins are 18 months old. With the twins growing and changing so quickly I feel the need to do formal pictures twice a year. Our new photographer is fantastic and felt comfortable doing "front porch" photos during our shelter in place orders. Here are a few of my favs...

I'm glad so many of them turned out well! Taking photos with the twins is a bit chaotic and challenging. Luckily we got some great quick photos that captures them at this fun age! 

Finley is also looking so handsome and grown up! He hates taking pictures but indulged me for this Mother's Day gift.

Life has definitely been challenging trying to raise and entertain three active boys during this pandemic. Some days I am ready to give up and run away! But look at those sweet faces. They keep me coming back and remind me how much I love them even when the days are long and hard.

18 Months Old!

Time is flying by! My sweet boys are now 18 months old!

At 18 months old Hunter weighs in at 23.2 lbs (36%), 2 feet 8.5 inches (54%), and head circumference of 48.8 cm (85%). He is our little peanut!

Hunter is our little independent boy! He loves milk, music, dancing, reading books, going for walks, playing outside, animals, puzzles, rolling his Rs, and riding his scoot n zoom around the house. Dislikes include brushing his teeth, sleeping through the night, sitting in his high chair, riding in the car, and sharing with his brother. Hunter is our little brute and is often biting Jackson when provoked. He has starting saying more words or at least attempting to say them. He can say mama, go, cookie, and can sign many words too. He also likes making siren noises. Nicknames include: Hunter Bunter, Bubba, and Huntie.

At 18 months old Jackson weighs in at 26 lbs 5 oz (78%), 2 feet 8 inches (36%), and 49 cm head circumference (89%). What a chunk! 

Jackson is still a mama's boy and is always my little helper. He loves snuggling, music, spinning, his pacis and burpies, reading books, playing outside, the mailman, balls, climbing on things, putting things together, running, and stealing things from his brother. He has also developed some naughty habits including kicking, head butting, and hitting. He doesn't say many words, mainly just mama, but he does a few signs now too. He mainly grunts and screams when he wants something. Dislikes include brushing his teeth, being told no, and sharing. Nicknames include Jaxie, Bubba, and Salamander.

We've been letting the boys walk more when we are on our daily walks and that has resulted in lots of skinned knees!

The warmer weather has prompted us to get out the swim suits and sprinklers!

We love Ms. Karen who still watches us once or twice a week so that mama can have a break!

The little boys no longer want to ride in their wagon. They love walking!

I can't believe the boys are 1 1/2 already! They are getting so big and growing up so fast! We are grateful for their health, strength, and safety at this time.
