A Rose by any Other Word . . .
That's right, as part of a tripartite agreement involving Finley's middle name, the naming of our next child, and my last name; I have officially changed my name.
It's actually quite a process, and I have only just begun to make the necessary changes. At least now, David can't tease me anymore by calling me "Mrs. Harris." I just hope I haven't lost the indefatigable human spirit that my dad tells me all D's were born with. It's in our blood right paps? Changing my name shouldn't effect it.
And so I will leave you with this:
'Tis but thy name that is my enemy:
Thou art thyself, though not a Montague.
What's Montague? It is nor hand nor foot,
Nor arm nor face, nor any other part
Belonging to a man. O be some other name!
What's in a name? That which we call a rose
By any other word would smell as sweet;
So Romeo would, were he not Romeo call'd,
Retain that dear perfection which he owes
Without that title. Romeo, doff thy name,
and for thy name, which is no part of thee,
Take all myself.
